Manchester Land Conservation Trust Receives 11-Acre Parcel From ECHN’s Manchester Memorial Hospital
MANCHESTER, CT – January 27, 2022 – The Manchester Land Conservation Trust, Inc. (MLCT) is pleased to announce the contribution of an 11-acre parcel of land located in Manchester, CT.
The property, donated by Eastern Connecticut Health Network’s Manchester Memorial Hospital (ECHN), is being formally presented on Thursday, January 27 at 10:00 am in the Main Lobby of Manchester Memorial Hospital. This process includes documentation finalization and signatures to confirm the transfer process which facilitates the donation to the benefit of MLCT. ECHN’s land parcel donation is valued at approximately $100,000. The parcel is of particular interest to the mission of the MLCT, due to its potential as habitat for the eastern spadefoot toad.
The parcel is a wooded area bounded on three sides by neighborhoods which include Manchester Memorial Hospital, a subsidiary of ECHN, and on the fourth side by the Cheney Rail Trail. In addition to this donation, ECHN has provided additional monetary donations to the MLCT to assist in covering costs for an A2 Survey by a Registered Land Surveyor, as required for recording of the transfer deed. ECHN will also contribute toward the clean-up efforts for this parcel.
