What is a Dietitian?
Registered Dietitian (RD) is a nationally recognized credential that is obtained by completing education requirements along with >1000 hours of supervised practice. Registered Dietitians are food and nutrition experts that have extensive education and training to help assist in managing acute and chronic health conditions.
Registered Dietitians evaluate a person’s health and nutritional needs and work with individuals to find a plan that works best for them. They can accommodate challenges such as a tight food budget, busy family and work schedules, unique cultural preferences, cooking limitations, and more!
What to expect from an appointment?
An initial appointment is typically 1 hour. The RD will review pertinent past medical history and a sample days intake. The RD will review what you, the patient, goal(s) is in attending the appointment. Whether it’s need for diet education that relates to a new diagnosis or trying to make lifestyle/diet changes, the RD is here to provide you with tips/tools that will assist in reaching your individual goal.
We offer many different types of appointments from a half hour appointment or an hour appointment. These appointments can be in-person or done virtually with telehealth.
An average first appointment begins with a comprehensive nutrition assessment to analyze current dietary habits.
