MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT - A free 10-week prenatal education class designed for young women, age 21 and under, who are preparing for a new baby and want to learn more about their body, their baby, and parenting. The program will be held Mondays, from 5 to 7:30 p.m., beginning September 28, in the Family Birthing Center Education Room at Manchester Memorial Hospital, 71 Haynes Street. Topics include prenatal nutrition for a healthy baby, signs of labor, tour of the maternity rooms, information about what to expect from your infant, how to prepare for the baby, breast and bottle-feeding techniques, basic infant care and development, and more. Information about community resources will also be available. Participants who complete the program will receive a baby gift. The father of the baby and/or support person is also invited to attend.
