New Officers Of The ECHN Board Of Trustees Elected At Recent Annual Meeting

Nov 22, 2011 -  MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT – New officers of the Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) Board of Trustees were elected at the health system’s annual meeting on November 9.

Dennis O’Neill, M.D., of Glastonbury, is the newly elected Chair of the ECHN Board of Trustees. Dr. O’Neill is a partner in Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants, which provides pathology services to ECHN. He received a B.S. in psychology from Seton Hall University in New Jersey and earned his medical degree at New Jersey Medical School in Newark. He is a past president of the ECHN Medical Staff and is the Chair of the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Services. Dr. O’Neill was a longtime Corporator for Manchester Memorial Hospital and then ECHN prior to being elected as a Trustee in November 2005. He has held the position of Vice Chair since 2009 and was Treasurer from 2007-2009.

Robin S. Murdock-Meggers, of Manchester, is the newly elected Vice Chair of the Board. She is an attorney-partner in the firm of Falkenstein, Meggers, & Paul, P.C., in Manchester. Prior to becoming a Trustee in 2004, she served as a Corporator since 2000. In addition, she is a Trustee of the Women’s Wellness Center, Inc. and appointed Secretary to the ECHN Board of Trustees in November 2010. She has been practicing law for 28 years. She has a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Slavic Studies from Boston College and received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School in Boston. She is a member of the Greater Manchester Area Women’s Attorneys, Hartford Area Women’s Attorneys, Connecticut Bar Association (Elder Law & Probate Sections), Hartford County Bar Association, Loomis Chaffee Parents Association, and Boston College Alumni Association. She is Trustee of the South United Methodist Church. She is founding member of C.A.R.E. – Connecticut Association Resources for Elders. She is also a former president of The Auxiliary of Manchester Memorial Hospital.

Craig Lappen, of Manchester, continues in his role as Treasurer of the Board. He is President of 21st Century Financial Advisors in Manchester. He received an AB in English from Ohio Wesleyan University and an MBA in finance from the University of Connecticut. Lappen is a longtime Corporator for Manchester Memorial Hospital and then ECHN. He was elected as a Trustee in November 2003. He is Treasurer for several nonprofit organizations.

Michele Conlon, M.D., of Marlborough, is the newly elected Secretary of the Board. Dr. Conlon is a partner in Eastern Connecticut Pathology Consultants, which provides pathology services to ECHN. She earned her medical degree at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pathology and fellowship training in hematopathology at Hartford Hospital. Dr. Conlon is board-certified in Anatomic & Clinical Pathology by the American Board of Pathology and Hematology by the American Board of Pathology. She was appointed to the active medical staff at Manchester Memorial Hospital in 1993, prior to the formation of the ECHN Medical Staff in 1996. She served as its President from 2008-2010 and Vice President from 2006-2008.

In addition to officer appointments, Wilson Vega, of Glastonbury, who is the President of Connecticut Business Systems, LLC, (CBS) in Newington, was elected as a Trustee.

New Corporators were also elected. They are:

William H. W. Crawford, IV, is President and CEO of Rockville Bank.

Wolfgang F. Kuenzler, of Tolland, is the Principal of the Vernon/Manchester Adult Night School.

Matthew J. Miner, of Manchester, is a Grocer/President of the Highland Park Market of Coventry, Inc.

Christopher G. Moore, of Vernon, is the owner of Moore’s Automotive, LLC., in Vernon.
