Free ECHN Community Health Education Programs For January and February

Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) offers free health education programs at its various locations. These programs are intended to be helpful and interesting to community members.

Gallbladder Matters. Join general surgeon Laureen Rubino, MD, a member of the active ECHN Medical Staff, on Wednesday, January 30, at 2600 Tamarack Avenue, South Windsor, in the ECHN Community Education Room, 6-7:30 p.m., as she explains common gallbladder issues, diagnosis and advanced robotic surgical treatment options. You & Your Thyroid. On Monday, February 4, endocrinologist Michael LeMay, MD, a member of the active ECHN Medical Staff, will provide a review of thyroid function and the problems that can occur including overactive and underactive thyroid, thyroid nodules and thyroid cancer. The program will be held at Manchester Memorial Hospital from 6-8 p.m. Dr. LeMay will also cover the various tests and medications used to treat thyroid disorders. The Aging Eye. Join ophthalmologist Ilona Shternfeld, MD, a member of the active ECHN Medical Staff, on Thursday, February 7, 11 a.m.-noon, at 2600 Tamarack Avenue, South Windsor, in the ECHN Community Education Room, for a discussion of common eye problems associated with aging including macular degeneration.
