MANCHESTER, CT. – Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) recently received a check in the amount of $6,200 from the Manchester Chapter of UNICO National, the largest Italian-American charity and community service organization in the country. The check represents proceeds from UNICO’s 15th Annual Valentine’s Dance. The event attracted close to 300 people.
The UNICO funds will be used to support uninsured and underinsured patients in need of financial assistance for breast and prostate health screening exams, including mammograms, MRIs, ultrasounds, and blood work, as well as biopsies and interventional procedures for breast care. Financially eligible patients under ECHN’s Breast Care Collaborative (860.533.4696) and the Breast & Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program (860.872.5368) have benefited from the UNICO funds for several years. This is the first year for prostate health screening support. Services are provided at a number of conveniently located ECHN facilities.
ECHN holds many annual events throughout the year and partners with corporations for maximum marketing opportunities. For information on how to be a part of future ECHN Community Healthcare Foundation events, please call Richard Silvia at 860.872.5305.
