MANCHESTER, CONNECTICUT - On May 18, 2010 former patients and members of the ECHN family were invited to ECHN's Center for Wound Healing to celebrate the first anniversary of the opening of the Center. The Center for Wound Healing offers hospital-based outpatient wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy, as well as disease management and diabetes care. During the first year of service, the Center served over 435 patients and healed 665 wounds. "We invited our former patients back to the Center to celebrate their success with healing. Patient participation is a critical part of the healing process" states Dr. Bernardo Mendoza, vascular surgeon and center physician.
At the celebration, attendees were given the opportunity to tour the Center and hear about the services offered, including Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO). During a short speaking program, a former patient spoke about the care and compassion he received and gave an update on how well his wounds and overall health has improved since coming to the Center.
For more information about chronic wounds and their underlying conditions, call the ECHN Center for Wound Healing at (860) 533-2903.
