2013 Healium Ball--A Delightful Evening Of Hope And Healing

May 17, 2013 -

The 2013 Healium Ball, Un Voyage √° Paris, will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2013, at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford. This signature black-tie event consists of an elegant cocktail reception beginning at 6 p.m., followed by a gourmet dinner and dancing at 7:30 p.m. Exciting entertainment with a Parisian theme will be provided by Timmy Maia and his band of top-notch professional musicians who will inspire and deliver a great dancing and party environment, and Hot on Broadway’s current Broadway performers who deliver a pulsating, polished and powerful performance that you won’t want to miss! This year a raffle for a 6-day/5-night trip for two to Paris is also offered. Tickets are on sale now and also available for purchase at the event. Proceeds from the Ball will benefit the DeQuattro Cancer Center Fund and the Meg Bert√© Owen Survivorship Fund.

The Healium Ball, first held in 2010, is a celebration by the community of the advanced services offered at the Eastern Connecticut Cancer Institute, housed at the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center. This year, the proceeds from the Healium Ball will be used to support two critical navigation programs associated with the Eastern Connecticut Cancer Institute: Nurse Navigation and Survivorship Navigation.

These two services provide non-reimbursable care that support patients and families before, during and after medical treatments. Both programs are vital to the overall healing of cancer patients and help guide them through their journey. Often, cancer causes additional complexities such as nutritional, emotional/psychosocial and financial issues. Navigators partner with patients and their families with options that involve counseling and education, transportation arrangements and complementary and integrative medicine.

All of these supports are in place at the John A. DeQuattro Cancer Center for each and every patient and are solely funded through philanthropic contributions. Your generous support is valued and critical to keep these programs flourishing for our neighbors, families and friends in eastern Connecticut. We invite you to come hear from our patients about the positive impact Navigation Services has had on their lives. For more information, please contact Nina Kruse at 860.647.4767 or nkruse@echn.org.
