Family Medicine

Welcome to the Eastern Connecticut Family Medicine Residency Program. The Eastern Connecticut Family Medicine Residency Program (ECFMRP), sponsored by Manchester Memorial Hospital (MMH), a member hospital of the Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN), was created in response to the critical shortage of family physicians in the eastern part of Connecticut. As the only family medicine residency program east of the river, ECFMRP provides a community-focused clinical site for residents to learn the art and science of family medicine.

ECFMRP is an unopposed AOA-accredited residency. The Family Medicine Health Care Center is the primary teaching site where residents provide care to their own patient panel under the guidance and supervision of board-certified family physicians and specialists. Residents provide and learn at MMH, an award-winning community hospital, where residents also run a Family Medicine Residency Service.

Residents learn cutting-edge medicine while maintaining and building upon the core principles learned as medical students, in preparation for the dynamic nature of our changing system.
